While the Biltmore Estate is the most popular tourist destination, we decided to just take in the scenery on a drive along the famed Blue Ridge Parkway. When God painted this landscape, it was truly a masterpiece!!
The drive was just spectacular!!
While I loved all of the gorgeous scenery, the decorator in me wanted to SHOP! One of my favorite shops, located near the Biltmore Estate, was this cute little place called " The Last Straw".
The owner told us that this is one of the original houses that Mr. George Vanderbilt commissioned to house the masons who worked on the Biltmore Estate. It has 3 original fireplaces and charming, creaky wood floors. It is two stories of delicious "eye-candy", sure to delight any decorator!
As you can see, there were a lot of pretty sights in Asheville! I hope you have enjoyed your visit here today; and I can't wait to post on a more regular basis, once things calm down. Hope you're having a great day!!
